Welcome to Loreto!
We live in Loreto, BCS, Mexico about half the year. Recently we sold a fairly large house downtown. Next fall, we’ll move into a smaller place in Loreto Bay. In the meantime, we’re traveling in the US.
Loreto is a small town on the Gulf of California. Founded in 1697, Loreto was the original capital of Baja California. It’s in the state of Baja California Sur - Mexico, about 200 miles north of La Paz on the gulf side. it’s a small town with fishing, farming and tourism as the main industries.
Loreto has an international airport with almost daily flights to the United States via Alaska, United, AeroMexico and several smaller airlines. Loreto is the center of a vast marine park covering an island chain in the Gulf of California. Cruise ships from several lines also make Loreto a stop.
We live three houses from the beach, close to the south end of the Malecon (Scenic Beach Drive.)
